Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD are set to release their aptly titled third album“III” to Australian and New Zealand audiences on May 30th. The first single to be lifted off the LP is the dark and discordant original composition ‘Can’t Leave The Night’.
The band hit a landmark by introducing original material into their compositions with their second album “BBNG2” in 2012. New songs like ‘Rotten Decay’, ‘Vices’ or‘UWM’ carried on the proud heritage of musical juxtaposition by bringing together jazz, hip hop, punk, and dance music into vigorous balance. ‘Can’t Leave The Night’picks up where “BBNG2” leaves off with their exploration of jazz, hip-hop, electronic and other new musical hybrids more evident and progressive than ever.
It was Tyler The Creator who helped fuel their discovery with a series of live jams that instantly went viral. Since, they’ve won praise from four corners of the globe and collaborated with Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, MF Doom, Pharaoh Monch and RZA among many more. Their notorious live performances have brought fans across the whole musical spectrum together, taking the band around the world from Coachella to Glastonbury to Australia’s taste making electronic music festivalOutsideIn in 2013.
“III” is a natural evolution of BBNG; they are learning what it is about the “classics” that appeals to people and also how far their songwriting can go.
