Balfours Bakery Releases Brand-New VEGAN Range

Balfours is celebrating its 165th anniversary by releasing contemporary fresh savouries and sweets for South Australians, including a new vegan range.

Everyone loves a bit of Balfours. Whether it’s a bite of one of the iconic square pies or choc donuts (who am we kidding, more than a bite), or the classic custard tart, Balfours is an integral part of Aussie bakery culture.

This year, Balfours Bakery is celebrating its 165th anniversary by releasing contemporary, fresh savouries and sweets for South Australians, including a brand-new vegan range. The SA owned and operated bakery is actually the first mass-produced baked goods manufacturer in Australia to provide a vegan option for consumers.

The Balfours Vegan Range includes:

  • Curried lentil and creamy potato pie
  • Mushroom, kale and leek pie
  • Fresh potato, leek and rosemary savoury roll
  • Roast vegetable pastry made with eggplant, onion, green capsicum, potato and sweet potato

Balfours has also released a Better Bite Range. This range boasts a 3.5 star health rating, which meets the 2020 NSW Healthy Food & Beverage Framework adhered to by school canteens throughout the nation.

Needless to say, we’m pretty excited about getting our hands on these vegan goodies (particularly the pies).
