Situated in a quaint 19th-century building in the historic Port Adelaide, The Banksia Tree Café has become pretty well known around town not just for their delicious, seasonal and sustainable menu but also for the atmosphere.
No stranger to an event (bottomless brunch anyone?!) the team at The Banksia Tree know what it takes for a good time and while the rest of the city winds down for the cooler months, they’re just warming up with a series of artist workshops!
Starting this May, The Banksia Tree will host a different artist each month to run you through a creative, hands-on workshop (complete with food and cocktails of course) that will see you leave with your very own piece-de-resistance and most likely a new friend or two.
Kicking things off will be a pairing with local pottery extraordinaire Morgyn from Parrot and Pea who will help you make your very own ceramic pinch pot! These little delights are simple enough to make but impressive enough to display proudly in your home or give as gifts!
Morgyn will fire and glaze your masterpieces and the lovely team at Banksia Tree will fill it with their house-smoked salt so they’ll will be ready to be put to good use!
While you work your magic on the clay, you’ll be fuelled by a gourmet grazing platter and if you’ve ever eaten at The Banksia Tree before you’ll be able to appreciate just how delicious this is set to be. Using 100% South Australian produce, their strong focus on sustainability and seasonality means their meals not only taste fresh and amazing but are supporting local producers and the environment.
The months following ceramics will be a range of creative workshops including a sip & paint, kokedama making, tea blending, macrame and calligraphy. Attend one or attend them all and really broaden your creative skills (and bank up some home made gifts!)
The first event takes place on May 14th making it the perfect gift for mum for Mother’s Day and is bound to put you in front spot for favourite child. Bookings are essential and tickets can be purchased here.
