Bar Lune to transform into high tea heaven next month

Bar Lune will be hosting high tea every Sunday in April (except Easter Sunday) and it will be a feast of finger sandwiches, pastries and delicious cocktails.

High tea has been around since the mid-1700s, but in recent years it’s had a major surge in popularity with the inclusion of delectable sweets and delicious cocktails.

The favoured weekend activity is on its way to Bar Lune, who is hosting high tea every Sunday in April (except Easter Sunday).

“We want to bring people in to enjoy a bit of a ladies Sunday, it’s a beautiful space to have a drink and nibble in the sun and have a gossip with the girls. Or as we like to say, spill the tea with high tea,” general manager Eamon Watt says.

For $55 per person, you’ll enjoy an array of delicious sweet and savoury treats from executive chef Adam Bowden, including a boozy iced tea on arrival.

“Adam know’s good food, he’s worked at Mount Lofty and before that he was the head chef at The Ritz in London which is known for its opulent fine dining,” Eamon says.

The menu will include a range of appetising items like curried egg salad and cucumber finger sandwiches, buttermilk scones and a range of pastries and cakes like chocolate tartlet and Eton mess.

They’ll also be offering their normal full menu along with some indulgent cocktails for high tea including a Kir Royale and a twist on the French Martini.

“We’ve never done this before, but thought it would be a good opportunity to try something new,” Eamon says.

The wine bar & eatery located on the Parade manages to look new and fresh, yet familiar all at once. It has a fun yet subdued blue interior, multicoloured terrazzo counters, and white-painted brick. It’s ideal for an “insta-perfect” afternoon with the girls.
