Barossa Distilling Company announce ‘Gin of the Year’ win

The winning Barrel Aged Gin is a single batch handcrafted Gin aged in old oak barrels sourced from some of Barossa’s finest fortified producers.

Barossa Distilling Company has won ‘Gin of the Year’ for their Barrel Aged Gin at the third London Spirits Competition.

Spirits were judged on the basis of three primary criteria (quality, value and packaging) and then scored on a 100-point scale.

Spirits that scored 90+ points were awarded Gold medals, spirits that scored 76 to 89 points were awarded Silver medals, and Bronze medals were awarded to spirits that scored between 65 and 75.

“The credibility that an award from the London Spirits Competition brings comes from the power of being judged across quality, value and appearance, the high quality of the judges and the intensely competitive product set,” said Neil Bullock, Managing Director of Barossa Distilling Company.

“We are over the moon that Barossa Distilling performed so well in such a ridiculously competitive field.

“To score 94 clearly demonstrates that we have set the bar high and are producing the types of spirits that bar managers and mixologists want to use and spirits drinkers enjoy drinking.”

The winning Barrel Aged Gin is a single batch handcrafted Gin aged in old oak barrels sourced from some of Barossa’s finest fortified producers. Each barrel lends unique characteristics to produce a sublime tasting spirit.

A Single Malt Whisky is set for release very soon, and has been matured in the same style of fortified barrels as the Barrel Aged Gin.
