Barossa Now Under An Hour Away With Northern Connector Officially Opening

Your trip to the Barossa just got shorter, with the opening of a new motorway bringing the trip to under an hour.

Travelling from Adelaide to the Barossa has just gotten a whole lot easier, with the opening of the Northern Connector over the weekend.

While we’d like to think it’s been done to make touring the Barossa’s amazing food and wine scene that little bit easier, the $867 million Northern Connector is a six-lane, 15.5 kilometre motorway providing a vital freight and commuter link between the Northern Expressway, South Road Superway and Port River Expressway. But essentially yes, indulging in the best the Barossa has to offer will now be more accessible than ever.

The motorway will serve as a new national road link to provide better connection between Adelaide, the Port of Adelaide, the northern suburbs and beyond (incuding the mid-north, Barossa Valley and the Riverland) and will support regional growth and economic sustainability, more efficient road travel and improved safety.

And the Barossa are making the most of the welcome news. They’ve just launched a new campaign ‘Barossa. Just Got Closer‘, which is music to our ears.
