For the next three months, the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company will host a pop-up café at The Gawler Civic Centre every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, serving up it’s award wining gelati, signature hot chocolates and of course, a selection of it’s handcrafted chocolates.
A selection of hot and cold items will also be available for purchase, along with different cakes. Coffee will also be available from their neighbours at Bean Addiction.
After many years of success, the company is excited to extend their reach out to Gawler: “We’ve not done anything like this before so it’s really wonderful to reach out to the community” says company representative Sally Day.
Barossa Valley Chocolate Company has become highly decorated since opening in 2019, winning champion awards at the 2024 SA Dairy Awards for their Whiskey Truffle and at the 2024 Perth Royal Food Awards for their dark chocolate enrobed peppermint cream praline.
They have also won a multitude of other awards for their unique collection of handmade chocolates and gelatis including a ruby chocolate with raspberry and wasabi, and Turkish delight gelati.
The company’s home in Tanunda is as impressive as the chocolates it creates, with a cafe, cellar door, and gelateria all included, with beautiful views of vineyards and a man-made lake.
The café will be run as a join venture, with Barossa Valley Chocolate Company operating Monday through to Wednesday and Divine Dining operating on Thursdays and Fridays. Diving Dining will be serving up warm soups and ice-creams to go along with homemade cakes, muffins, and cookies as well as light lunch options and hot drinks.
