The Burge family is back where it all began, opening the doors to their brand-new Corryton Burge Cellar Door in a spot that feels more like home than a fresh start.
Perched at the top of Krondorf Road, with views that sweep across the Barossa’s sunlit vines, the space is more than just a cellar door. It’s a return to a building purchased by Helen and Grant Burge in 1978, nestled just across the road from the Burge family home.
For sixth-generation siblings Trent, Amelia, and Toby Burge, it’s a location filled with childhood memories.
Now, with the launch of Corryton Burge’s dedicated space, those memories have evolved into something guests from near and far can step into — a place where family history and winemaking passion come together in every bottle poured.

The move comes as Corryton Burge transitions from its previous location at Underground Barossa. But this is far from a relocation for convenience. It’s a deliberate return to roots. Helen Burge first renovated the building back in 2013 with tastings in mind, and after several years leased out, it’s now been brought back into the family fold in 2025 — a full-circle moment that feels as natural as the region’s rolling hills.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming the next step of the Corryton Burge story at a space that is so special to us all as a family,” says Trent Burge.
“We want everyone who walks into the Corryton Burge Cellar Door to feel that instant warmth of our Burge family hospitality.”
Inside, the tasting room is cosy but bright, with sunlight pouring through the windows and estate Grenache vines stretching out beyond.
Guests can settle in for a $10 Discovery Tasting, showcasing handpicked wines from the Kith and Kin collections, plus the sparkling range launched last year. For those keen to explore a little deeper, the $20 Paired Tasting matches six wines with locally sourced bites.
There’s even a private tasting room for up to 15 people — perfect for those who like their wine with a side of story.

With over 160 years of winemaking behind them, the Burge name is known well beyond Barossa borders. Corryton Burge, though, is something more personal. Every label is a nod to people and place — Kin for family, Kith (in old English means “kinfolk, neighbours”) for those who’ve supported the journey along the way.
“I’ve worked in the wine industry for many years, but nothing has made me prouder than building Corryton Burge,” says Grant Burge.
“To mark this moment at a location that played such a role in our upbringing couldn’t be a better fit. It’s great to be home.”
Adding even more depth to the Burge family’s legacy is their longstanding connection to one of Tanunda’s most historic wine sites. Established in 1896 by Barossa settler Johannes Basedow, the original winery at 161 Murray Street was built from locally quarried ironstone and named “Illaparra,” meaning ‘gums by the creek.’
Grant and Helen Burge became custodians of this storied property in the 1990s and have since created a series of unique wine-tasting experiences there, designed to demystify and inspire. Delivered by warm, passionate hosts, their premium wines are paired with carefully matched morsels and served alongside captivating stories, making each visit unforgettable.
And with wines that draw from the Barossa, Eden Valley, Adelaide Hills, and Tasmania, the family may be back in Krondorf, but their story is anything but standing still.
Head to the Barossa and join the family for an unforgettable wine experience—where history, passion, and family spirit come together in every sip.
