Adelaide’s northern suburbs have just scored a major foodie win—a new burger spot has officially opened in Salisbury! After nearly a decade of serving up premium handcrafted burgers in Semaphore, these burger pros are sure to impress.
Established in 2015, Barry’s Burgers has built a loyal following thanks to its high-quality, made-to-order burgers, crispy-loaded fries, and top-notch ingredients.
Owner Chris Ratnaike shared “Barry’s Burgers started as my sister’s idea, she and a friend originally opened it while I was working overseas on the superyachts. She knew I was obsessed with great food, so she had me researching the best burger spots while I travelled. When I moved back to Australia, she was ready to step back, and that’s when I jumped in with my business partner, Rami, to turn it into what it is today.”
The new location means great news for burger lovers across the northern suburbs. Fans in Salisbury, Parafield, Elizabeth, and surrounding areas no longer have to make the trek to Semaphore to get their fix. The move makes Barry’s more accessible than ever, giving northern locals a top-tier burger option closer to home.
“Heaps of the customers that we would get regularly down in Semaphore usually came from up north during summer. A lot of people would always be like ‘It would be so cool to have more out our way’. When the shop popped up it was in the right spot that wasn’t too commercial.
“We knew that there was a bit of demand for us out that way, so we were just waiting for the right spot to come up.”
The new Salisbury location will be serving up the same items that have made Barry’s a local favourite, including its 100% grass-fed beef burgers, freshly sourced produce, and signature sauces. Whether you’re after a classic cheeseburger, a stacked double, or something with a little spice, Barry’s menu has something for everyone.
“The Baz Deluxe is definitely the most popular burger. We’re known for our high-quality beef—it’s one of the things that sets us apart. We’ve kept the same supplier for almost ten years, once I have that beef, I can’t have anything else.”
