Be Confused: Plonk’s Homage To The Barossa Kick Starts Season Two

Wine show comedy PLONK kicks off its Season Two YouTube launch with a tongue-in-cheek parody of the South Australian Tourism Commission’s award winning ad campaign ‘Be Consumed’.

Wine show comedy PLONK kicks off its Season Two YouTube launch with a tongue-in-cheek parody of the South Australian Tourism Commission’s award winning ad campaign ‘Be Consumed’.

Plonk & Maggie Beer

The trailer, aptly named ‘Be Confused’, features Barossa food icon Maggie Beer and premieres Monday 19th of October, followed by the show’s second series.

“South Australia has always marketed their wine regions in such a creative way. The Barossa campaign in particular was a real highpoint. We thought it only fitting that we honour such an amazing commercial in true Plonk fashion. That is to say: a pale imitation of the original.”  Plonk Creator Nathan Earl said.

Following on from its Television premiere on streaming service Stan in June, PLONK Season Two now moves to YouTube, uploading all 15 webisodes of the series over three weeks, commencing Monday 19th October.

With Season One already available on the PLONK YouTube page, the PLONK channel will also host web exclusives and deleted scenes.

And for those viewers who prefer their PLONK with a longer palate, the six half-hour versions of the show will be made available at the end of PLONK’S three week tasting, on Friday 6th November.

Starring Chris Taylor from “Chaser’s War on Everything”, Barossa-born Joshua Tyler and the show’s creator Nathan Earl, PLONK Season Two takes another comedic look behind the scenes of the making of a serious wine program, this time in South Australia.

Joining the cast for Season Two are a host of top South Australian winemakers as well as cameos from comedian Greg Fleet, food legend Maggie Beer, fellow Chaser Andrew Hansen and South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill.

Jump on YouTube to follow the continuing adventures of PLONK’S hapless TV crew as they bumble, fumble and embarrass their way around South Australia’s most iconic wine regions, leaving a path of destruction in their wake.

PLONK Season Two is a One Stone Pictures production made in association with ITV Studios Australia and supported by Screen Australia, the South Australian Tourism Commission, South Australian Film Corporation and Wine Selectors.
