In Adelaide, we are lucky to have access to some of the world’s greatest gastronomic playgrounds and the Barossa certainly sits in that category. With its amazing wine, fresh seasonal produce and stunning landscapes, we really are blessed. The Barossa wants you to Be Consumed at the 30th Barossa Gourmet Weekend in August 2015.

A fantastic opportunity to indulge in food, wine, music and everything that the Barossa has to offer, this three day festival is certainly not one that you want to miss!

The festival began with three ‘Barossans’ who loaded up their trucks with local produce and drove to Adelaide to showcase their wares. From that, three decades later and on the third weekend of August every year, the whole region comes together to celebrate the best of the Barossa.

The Barossa Gourmet Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to indulge in food, wine and music and famous hospitality in the beautiful Barossa. A range of entertainment to suit all tastes will be on offer at each of the venues.

Food and wine experiences, family fun days, evening events, long lunches, winery days, cooking classes and wine master-classes are just some of the highlights of the overflowing program.

“We’re a pretty passionate lot in the Barossa who have always understood that connection between good food and wine… and we’re pretty good at finding reasons to come together and enjoy it, too” Says Marty Powell, Chair of the 2015 Barossa Gourmet Weekend.

He continues, “It’s fantastic to see how the popularity of the weekend has grown. That connection of being in the community – eating and drinking in-situ where it’s grown and with the people who are growing and making it – has clearly become an important part of the message.”
