Currently fundraising online via her website, she will also be the focus of a very special high tea to conclude the online pledge and attract new supporters at the InterContinental Hotel on October 30.
Fearless is a High Tea proudly supporting The Cure4CF Foundation The Cure4CF Foundation is a non for profit organisation who support the work of The Adelaide CF Airway Gene Therapy Research Group as they work towards finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis Airway Disease. Over the next 5 years, if $1.5 million can be raised for the group, it will bring their research to the next level where they can undergo human clinical trials.
A bit of background – Cystic Fibrosis is the most common life threatening hereditary illness affecting Australians today. It primarily effects the lungs and digestive system.
The average life expectancy is 37. A simple cold can be life threatening and lead to a chest infection which as a result can lead to 2-3 weeks of hospitalisation undergoing intravenous treatment to help fight the infections. CF Suffers can also take up to 40 pancreatic tablets a day to help digest the food as well as other forms of tablets, inhaled antibiotics and medications as well as regular physiotherapy all to remain healthy. It is an invisible disability, very common yet still unknown.
Guests will then be inspired by hearing Emmah talk about her life with Cystic Fibrosis and the journey so far and how she lives with a chronic illness as well as being an active mother to two children. Hosted by Channel 10’s, Rebecca Morse, this is an event you dont want to miss. With a glass on bubbles on arr range of wonderful Silent Auction items and prizes to be won, you will enjoy the sweet and savoury nibbles accompanied by tea/coffee.
With thanks to Rex Airways, The Port Lincoln Hotel and The Calypso Tours who are sponsoring the event, it’s now our chance to make a contribution. So grab your friends and get a table of 10 together, numbers are limited.
