Be Part Of A LIVE Artwork This Wednesday At Adelaide Oval

‘1000 Hands, 1000 Needles’ is raising awareness and breaking the silence about the emotional health effects of children with Type 1 Diabetes.

This Wednesday July 10th, charity Just Like Us is running a fun and creative fundraising event at Adelaide Oval with local artist Emma Hack, and everyone is young and old, is invited to be involved.

Called ‘1000 Hands, 1000 Needles’ the event is raising awareness and breaking the silence about the emotional health effects of children with Type 1 Diabetes.

AFL T1D champion Nathan Bassett is heading to Adelaide Oval to be part of a LIVE artwork directed by Emma Hack and you’re invited to join in too.

Grab your friends, your colleagues or your family, register, and head to Adelaide Oval on Wednesday morning (the more the merrier). Then everyone at the event will have their hand painted! Once painted, you can place your hand (& wet paint) on a giant canvas as part of the 1000 Hands, 1000 Needles artwork, and make your personal show of support.

On the day, Nikki Hueskus and Becky Blake are set to perform for the SA T1D Warriors with their talented daughters Akasha Starr and Chelsea and Ashley Blake.

The Just Like Us Initiative is a proactive physical and emotional wellbeing support system for children living with the chronic and currently incurable disease T1D (Type 1 Diabetes) and their families. The organisation helps to build resilience, confidence, and self-esteem, whilst empowering children to control their own future and health.

Statistics say that more than 50% of Children living with T1D will go on to experience anxiety/depression and or engage in self harm.

It is the Just Like Us mission to change those statistics.
