Become A Master Of Cheese & Wine At Cellar Door Fest

Leave this year’s Cellar Door Festival chock full of cheese AND wisdom!

If you’re a regular on Glam Adelaide, you’ll already guess how excited we are for Cellar Door Festival to take over the Adelaide Convention Centre over March 15 to 17!

We’ve talked about how a ticket to Cellar Door Fest is probably one of the greatest gifts you could give someone, but today we’re going to get keen about all the fun stuff you can do there.

You go to Cellar Door Fest for all the amazing cheese and drinks, which usually means you leave, er, quite tipsy and with a slightly temperamental tummy (because that much cheese will have an effect on anyone). This year — what if you left as a gin blending expert? Or a master of cheese and sparkling pairings?

It’s a dream well within your reach! This year’s festival boasts a number of master classes for you to level up your South Aussie food and drink knowledge.

Saturday, 16 March

  • Settler’s Spirits are hosting a 1.5 hour gin blending lesson, during which you’ll make your own gin and leave with a 200ml bottle of your best creation!
  • Or if gin isn’t quite your thing, there’s a luxurious cheese and sparkling master class presented by DAOSA sparkling and Terre à Terre wines owner and winemaker, Xavier Bizot, and Woodside Cheese Wrights award-winning cheese maker, Kris Lloyd.

Sunday, 17 March

Soak up all the knowledge (and alcohol) and come away all the wiser — and more prepared to impress whenever you host guests!

Seats are limited though, so make sure you get in early to book yourself a spot!

Looking for knowledge that’s a little easier on the pocket? Jessie’s Kitchen is a series of free, live cooking demos hosted by Jessie Spiby. This stage is jam-packed with local producers sampling, spruiking and demonstrating their newest and most delicious products. With demonstrations scheduled at various times throughout the Fest, Jessie’s Kitchen presents a great opportunity to join in foodie discussions and learn how to whip up unique dishes that you can cook at home.

Hands on activities not for you? No worries! There’s plenty to keep you busy, so check out what else is on here.
