Become An ‘Angel For A Day’ At The Hutt Street Centre This Winter

Feel like being an Angel for a Day? Join the Hutt St Centre and help those less fortunate survive this winter.

As the winter chill greets Adelaide, many are fortunate enough to keep it at bay with the help of central heating, crackling fires and cosy jackets or an entire quilt (we won’t judge). However, 5,985 people are not so fortunate, as many rely on Hutt St Centre for two meals a day. Located on 258 Hutt St, the centre, provides 50,000 hot meals a year for Adelaide’s homeless, with the help of Angels.

‘Angel for a day’ is a program created through Hutt St Centre, which allows them to provide meals for a day for 200 people in Adelaide, who are struggling, particularly through winter. Through a donation of $350, you can become an angel for a day, this entails being invited to the kitchen to assist in the preparation of meals and serve the product of your donation. Being able to witness the impact one donation can achieve and its significance to the homeless community of Adelaide is an amazing experience.

The importance of the Angel for a Day program spans much further than a meal, it creates a sense of dignity, mutual-respect and unity. All of which are integral to creating a better community. Through this program an Angel can gain a new perspective, learn new skills, make social connections, show appreciation for their own community and develop as a person.

Your choice of day could be in remembrance of a loved one, a birthday or a date that will become significant as the day you helped 200 homeless people through a tough time.

If you feel like sprouting wings this winter, make sure to go to the Hutt St Centre Website and check out their Facebook page or Twitter for updates.
