Reckon you’re pretty handy with a pair of tongs and a grill? This could be you and your friends’ chance to claim your meaty throne and become the 2018 Fat Drip BBQ Champions!
Local professional foodie Dougal McFuzzlebutt of McFuzzlebutt’s Manchen has teamed up with First Drop Wines to hold this deliciously greasy competition (the 2nd Australasian BBQ Alliance sanctioned comp) at the beautiful Barossa Provenance grounds in Nuriootpa on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October. The Fat Drip BBQ Comp is all about ‘Low n’ Slow’; taking time and care over a low flame to produce the most masterfully mouth-watering meaty masterpieces.
Competitors will clash in the four categories of Chicken, Lamb, Beef and Pork, with a Reserve Grand Champion and Grand Champion for the overall points leaders; all for cash and prizes. There will also be an exhibition Hot Links event on Saturday 6th where serious snag-lovers can vie for the title of Top Dog! Registering for this event costs $50.
Entries for the Fat Drip BBQ Competition have recently opened, so grab three of your best BBQ buddies (max 4 per team) and head on over to the registration page to enter. Registration costs $250 per team.
