Beer Company Turns Break In Around, Offering Free Food To Help Community

What absolute, bloody legends.

The saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” sprung to mind when we stumbled across Barossa Valley Brewing’s latest Facebook post.

After 15 years in business, the SA brewers had a break in this week, but instead of despairing, they decided to use the experience as a catalyst for change.

Sensing the desperation and hard times that some people in the Barossa may be facing this year, they have decided to start a new program where they’ll be offering food for free on Wednesdays. The community-minded decision should hopefully not only help those out who are doing it tough, but it should also act as a catalyst to bring people together, in increasingly isolated times.

What absolute legends.

How can you help I hear you wondering? How about buying some fabulous beer from the guys, so they have some extra dosh to put towards their free food program. It’s a win/win for everyone!

For those who missed the Facebook post, here’s what they wrote:

15 years, our 1st break in. Maybe coincidence. Maybe the stress of a miserable year is making people in even more relaxed rural regions like the Barossa lash out in desperation. So took some time and decided what to do. This is what was decided.
1. End the day with an extra stress relieving ale
2. Invest in better alarm systems
3. Start a program in which we prepare food for free on Wednesday. Nothing fancy… things the kitchen needs to move. But it will be wholesome local fare. The hope is show community support and people will feel less desperate. So stay tuned for more info. Hope to kick off next Wednesday.

Barossa Valley Brewing is located at 2A Murray Street, Tanunda.
