Beer Lovers Rejoice! How New Bar ‘Nola’ Is Sticking It To The Man

This spot is all about individuality and honing your craft. That’s why the Nola team have created their own Pozible campaign, to hone as much craft as possible into their tap beers.

You know by now that we love a new bar as much as the next guy… that’s a lie probably more-so than the next guy! So when we heard about the exciting new upcoming bar Nola (as in New Orleans, Louisiana) we jumped at the chance to find out more.

The bar itself will provide an extensive list of beer and whiskeys with a heavy focus on supporting small independent brewers. Rotating stock and 16 beer taps backed up with a solid bottled beer list will make Nola a unique craft beer bar. But there’s something for the whiskey lovers too; boasting a list of 70+ whiskeys and grain based spirits from all over the world (mainly the US and Aussie though) and the list is only set to get bigger over time.

But here’s the interesting part, as you can assume this spot is all about individuality and honing your craft. That’s why the Nola team have created their own Pozible campaign, to hone as much craft as possible into their tap beers.

Too cryptic? Ok we’ll explain. The reason, in Nola’s words, that you rarely see your favourite craft beer on tap in a venue is because the brewing giants or large commercial companies are offering enticements like cash rebates, tap installation and other incentives to lock out up to 100 per cent of beer taps in thousands of pubs around Australia. Yikes.

Obviously this can stop the little guys (i.e. the craft breweries) from getting a chance to display their incredible products in commercial pubs, it’s just too costly. Well the Nola team are saying no to the big guns, and have instead launched a Pozible campaign to pay for independent taps, so they can get back to what’s important… damned good beer.

They said ‘The premise of this campaign is solely to engage with communities. We want to help individuals and groups have their say, and in return we create a venue that can support craft brewers and breweries for the long haul.’ We’re glad to say that by providing unique incentives the boys have REACHED their Pozible goal!

If you’re a passionate beer lover too and you’d love to get involved with the campaign, it’s still running until Friday. And the incentives for your donations (such as jumpers, t-shirts, VIP Masterclass invites, beer and whiskey tastings, breakfast followed by a craft brewery tour and ‘be the brewer’ experiences) are still available! Check it all out here, and be sure to watch their awesome video to really get the feel for the passion behind this project.

With breweries like Prancing Pony, Pirate Life and Little Bang all on board already the feature is looking bright (and thirst quenching) at Nola.

The quirky American venue is due to open late this month, making all your beer and whiskey dreams come true. It’s going to be housed in the historic ‘Stables’ off Rundle Street. The building is currently under renovation including the addition of a mezzanine level and the repointing of the building’s original walls. The space will be New Orleans inspired (obviously) but joining this together with some historic Adelaide charm will make this a truly unique spot on the bar scene.

For more information on the happenings at Nola jump on their Facebook page, or keep your eyes peeled, as we’ll definitely be having a drink or two when their doors open.
