Beetroot lattes available in Port Elliot

The beetroot latte is a beautiful pink colour and is described as having a “warming” flavour with ginger, cinnamon, and other aromatic botanicals.

If you’re a beetroot lover like we are, then this treat is worth a try!

Port Elliot company Wildfire Organic Tea makes an array of herbal teas and botanical tea powders to enjoy at home, and their beetroot latte blend in particular caught our eye.

The BeetNik Spiced Beetroot Latte is a beautiful pink colour and is described as having a “warming” flavour with ginger, cinnamon, and other aromatic botanicals.

Beetnik is a mix of organic spices that are traditionally used to support digestion, and beetroot has long been used as a healthy tonic with cardiovascular, blood health, and anti-inflammatory properties, so this latte is a treat and a remedy.

According to the Port Elliot tea company, which used to have a tea house but now operates mainly online, this was a surprise favourite of their regulars, which they acknowledge is a novelty (“surprising, we know! Beetroot?”)

“For this who used to come to our tea house, this dusty pink latte needs no introduction as it was one of our most popular,” Wildfire Organic Tea says.

While they no longer have a standalone shop, Wildfire Organic Tea still has the Tea Shed, a shop they open on Friday’s so customers and business partners can meet Jane Burke, the tea maker, and and see where the products are made.

The company has a range of offerings in addition to their beetroot blend, such as spiced butterfly pea flower tea, black chai tea, and a range of botanical tea powders. They can be used as lattes, smoothies, and more.

The Tea Shed is open Fridays 9am to 2pm.
