Yesterday saw the launch of one of the most fabulous and coveted events on the annual Adelaide Fashion Festival calendar, the launch of the Variety on King William menu.
The popular fine dining and fashion event is kicking off this year’s Adelaide Fashion Festival and is set to be bigger and better than ever before. With guests dining alfresco style along the road and being treated to three exceptional courses from King William Road establishments Bottega Rotolo, Ichitaro Dining, Faraja, Parisi’s, By Blackbird and Mulot’s Patisserie. Also coming together are both Tomich Hill and Wicks Estate wineries, who have generously provided the perfect matches for every dish served.
For the first time these fabulous food venues have come together to collaboratively create a spring inspired menu, all sourced from local ingredients. Glam and other Adelaide foodies were invited along for a ‘progressive lunch’ to taste all the treats that will be in store on the big day! SPOILER ALERT: it was all to die for!
Media gathered first at beautiful Ichitaro Dining to enjoy fresh asian fusion style canapes matched with Wicks Estate sparkling wines. We mingled amongst friends and co workers before our convoy of brand new Mercedes’ supplied by major event sponsor Mercedes Benz Adelaide arrived to take us to our next location.
Guests hopped into the latest Mercedes GLE and GLE Coupe for a comfortable and stylish ride to Bottega Rotolo. This elegant food and grocery store is a foodie’s ultimate location. We were greeted by rows and rows of every cheese imaginable and bottles of sophisticated wine for days. It was pretty much all our Glam dreams come true! We enjoyed delicate tarts and quiches, washed down with a glass of Tomich Hill. Plus they generously allowed us to taste a few of their delicious cheeses and cured meats. We could’ve happily stayed here and nibbled the afternoon away, but alas it was time to shuffle on.
And we’re so glad we did. Next up was restaurant Faraja for our first main course of the afternoon, a succulent stuffed chicken breast that left the tastebuds tingling. This light and airy spot is simply beautiful on a spring day, and that same feel was brought to the plate.
We then did a bit of a switcheroo, to ensure we all experienced the variety of the Mercedes Benz range, and cruised in the sunshine with the convertible top down to final destination Parisi’s. Here we enjoyed our second main, a wonderful spring lamb tart/salad hybrid that matched perfectly with the Wicks Estate Shiraz.
As if we thought we wouldn’t squeeze in anymore we then were presented with not one, but TWO divine desserts! A decadent chocolate tart from By Blackbird and a light and zesty tart from Mulot’s patisserie with all the trimmings.
We sipped on Cotto Espresso coffee whilst enjoying the sunlight in the Parisi’s courtyard and undoing the top buttons on our pants. Oh, maybe that was just us?
Although we indulged in an incredible feast the Variety on King William event goes way beyond just exceptional dining. The event showcases the best of local from all aspects. The fashion runway that will be on show on the big day will put the spotlight on the talents of the local designers from King William Road, and be the grand opening event of a festival that is sure to put Adelaide on the map in the fashion world. There will also be music provided by local DJs so you can tap your feet and boogie in your seats while you feast your senses.
Not only that, but the $140 tickets support Variety SA- The Children’s charity. The event is selling faaaast. And we mean fast, so be sure to head here to snap yours up quick smart. This is one Adelaide Fashion Festival event you simply shouldn’t miss!
