Beloved Africola restaurant to open for lunch in major announcement

For the first time in its ten-year history, Africola will be opening its doors for lunch from February 14th to March 15th, Wednesday to Friday.

Africola, the renowned South African BBQ restaurant located in the heart of Adelaide, is set to embark on an exciting new venture.

For the first time in its ten-year history, Africola will be opening its doors for lunch from February 14th to March 15th, Wednesday to Friday. This move marks a significant milestone for the popular dining hotspot, known for its vibrant atmosphere and unique culinary offerings.

Run by Adelaide’s on culinary wizard Duncan Welgemoed, Africola has established itself as a gem in the city, offering an eclectic mix of South African BBQ dishes and banquets infused with North African flavours. The lunch service promises to be a delightful extension of Africola’s commitment to high-quality dining and entertainment.

The new lunch menu is designed to cater to a diverse palette, featuring a daily changing Ala carte selection. Diners can expect a fusion of new classics and old favourites, carefully crafted to offer a unique lunch experience.

“We are seriously excited about this one,” the team announced on social media.

The restaurant’s strategic location in the city’s bustling centre makes it an ideal spot for both casual and business lunches. Africola’s reputation for a fun and fiery atmosphere is expected to carry over into the lunch hours, offering guests an escape from the mundane.

Reservations for Africola’s lunch service are now open and are highly recommended, given the restaurant’s popularity and the limited duration of this lunch offering. And it’s the perfect time, with Adelaide Fringe set to kick off across the road in 2 weeks.

This is a rare opportunity for Adelaide’s food enthusiasts and Africola’s loyal fans to indulge in an exceptional culinary experience during the daytime.

Duncan Welgemoed is no stranger to pushing boundaries. Known for his innovative take on African cuisine, Welgemoed’s Africola has become a hotspot in Adelaide since it opened in 2014.

Huge name celebrities like Bon Iver’s frontman Justin Vernon, tennis legend Novak Djokovic and pop star Katy Perry have all made popular Adelaide restaurant, Africola, their go-stop while on tour in South Australia.

Most recently, Welgemoed hosted an exclusive dinner for The Foo Fighters at The Exeter (a beloved Rundle Street pub) a day before the their sold-out concert at Coopers Stadium on Saturday night.
