Beloved cafe Karma and Crow set to embark on new era

Iconic Richmond establishment Karma and Crow are set to embark on a new journey, leaving their beloved space behind.

Karma and Crow, an absolute staple for those in Adelaide’s west and surrounds, have announced that their time in their fairy-lit, industrial warehouse is coming to an end.

But it’s not all doom and gloom, we promise. The Richmond road crew will be reopening at a new location, which is top secret… for now.

“Our lease is up here in August and the timing has never more right for a fresh new start in fresh new digs. Don’t worry, we’re literally moving only a couple of blocks away to a bigger space,” the cafe wrote on Facebook.

“We absolutely love our location but we too, are feeling the pinch and we’re feeling it real hard. While we are super excited for the switch up, it’s also feeling very bittersweet. This was our home and we love the community we’ve built and basked in.

“This new space is somethin’ else and we can’t wait to share it with you when the time’s right. Moving is a costly exercise in a very hard time so we appreciate all the support we can get up until and after the move.”

The cafe also acknowledged how challenging the last few years have been, saying the space feels tired and that a rejuvenation is not only needed, but also well deserved.

Opening back in 2016, the space instantly filled the void of a lack of coffee and culinary delights in the area and quickly became many of our go-to for a catch up with friends.

From the minute you walk into the space, which is filled with natural light and a plant collection I am quite jealous of, you instantly feel the love from the staff as you enjoy an item off their perfectly curated seasonal menu.

The funky space is also home to local resident artists, with the studios privately leased out. These tenants have studios of their own within a small community of studios. In further support of local creatives and businesspeople, the shelves in Karma and Crow are always stocked with retail items from a range of local makers.

Just last year the site welcomed western-inspired retail store Howdy Partner, which quickly became the place to go for all your last-minute gifts, vintage homewares, classic vinyl, and even thrifty fashion!

Sorry if we have hit you in the feels, but there is still plenty of time to head to Karma and Crows OG site, they will still be serving their mouth watering goods until May.
