Beloved Sydney BBQ masters relocating to the Adelaide Hills

Formerly NSW based BBQ company Piggy Smalls Barbecue will be bringing their famous Que to Echunga in the Adelaide Hills.

When you think about the Adelaide Hills images of picturesque scenery and wineries will usually come front of mind. You probably don’t think much about American BBQ… well, now you should.

Formerly NSW based BBQ company Piggy Smalls Barbecue will be bringing their famous Que to Echunga in the Adelaide Hills.

Piggy Smalls is the brainchild of Mark Boord and his wife Beth who started cooking BBQ for their friends who absolutely loved it, so much so that the couple decided to make it a business.

Adelaide is home for Mark and Beth but the business has been going in Sydney and the NSW Central Coast for the last four years and whilst they say they’ll miss their loyal NSW customers they are excited for new pastures in the Adelaide Hills and surrounds.

They decided to move the business to South Australia after they got some happy news.

“We’re expecting our first child, which is pretty cool and Sydney’s been good to us but we’ve bought a place in the Adelaide Hills and want to settle down and get back home before it gets too hard to move with the kids.

“We were looking everywhere in SA and we really think we are going to sit well in the hills with the business,” Mark says.

They also own a business called complete shutters Australia which will be moving to Adelaide as well where they do high end window furnishings, so it’s not just American BBQ they are skilled in.

Mark is in the process of getting in touch with other SA businesses and events as Piggy Smalls has been involved in a lot of co-organised events in NSW so you can also hire them specifically for your next event.

You can expect the American BBQ favourites such as pulled pork and brisket but they also have some pretty unique items to sink your teeth into.

“Our most popular item is probably our pulled pork or brisket nachos, we also do a smoked cheese and bacon personal cob, so in winter you can go get a personal cob and a brisket burger on the side and it’s as good as it gets,” Mark says.

Piggy Smalls will be in Adelaide very soon. To find out which events they’ll be involved with or where to hire them, check them out on Facebook by clicking here.
