Ben & Jerry’s, the chunk-loving purveyors of fine ice cream, will kick off a series of special events this 1st December, as they bring their much-loved Sundae Sessions to Openair Cinemas in Adelaide for the very first time.
Launching in Glenelg Beach, the four Sundae Sessions will see local artists Ash Gale, Christian Andrew and Rin McArdle take to the stage as part of a bumper program of exciting entertainment which runs until 22nd December.
Born and raised in the rolling hills of Adelaide, Ash Gale has grown into one of South Australia’s best musicians. As a session vocalist, songwriter and producer, Ash sparks emotions through his musical abilities with a voice that is as powerful and expressive as it is delicate and resonating. His sound, a unique blend of alternative rock and acoustic melodic soul, is complemented by his powerful vocals.
Ash says “I’m looking forward to playing two Sundae Sessions shows at Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas, I’ll be sharing tracks from my new EP before it’s released early next year and I embark on my nationwide tour.”
Christian Andrew, one of Adelaide’s best-loved artists will performing on 8th December and is set to deliver his signature mix of mellow acoustic sounds. The next musical installment comes from Rin Mcardle, whose husky soulful voice is fresh from collaborating with Powderfinger’s Ian Haug.
The events will feature Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for all as well as a host of fun lawn games such as Putt Putt and cow Jenga. Bean loungers and deck chairs will be provided for maximum comfort for guests to enjoy the range of movies on offer which include About Time – the latest work from Richard Curtis, Labyrinth, Rush and The Counselor.
Sundae Sessions run throughout the summer season on Sundays across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and will also be hitting Perth for the first time. Showcasing sweet music, films, and of course Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
Ben & Jerry’s arrival in Adelaide this summer also marks the search to find a franchisee to help spread the peace, love and ice cream across South Australia. Music by day, movies by night, Openair Cinemas is a quintessential summer event that features a great mix of classic and recent blockbuster movies which play on huge outdoor screens from dusk. Cinemagoers and music lovers alike can relax with gourmet-style food and tasty beverages from the licensed bar, and watch the sunset sounds of acoustic sets from talented musicians.
