It’s the ultimate wine lover’s ‘Cellar Door’ when for one night only at the National Wine Centre, the general public can taste any of 500 Cabernet Sauvignon & Varietals – and possibly sample three of the world’s ‘super premium cabernet’ wines from Europe costing up to $1,500 a bottle.
The Winestate Cabernet Challenge is among the biggest tastings internationally of this icon wine variety.
The nationally promoted event is being held on this Friday evening, April 1 from 6-8pm. The event is an immediate follow up to the professional judging process by Winestate’s expert panels of for its 2011 Cabernet Challenge.
Ticket holders will be able to taste from hundreds of wines from the magazine’s major international Cabernet judging that is held in the days leading to the event.
The event is managed and presented by Winestate Publishing, Australia’s oldest and most respected magazine authority on Australian wines, the wine industry and wine tourism. Each year Winestate evaluates over 10,000 wines from all regions in Australia and New Zealand with additional tourism information on where to stay and where to eat for its consumer and trade readers.
Winestate Publisher, Peter Simic said the Cabernet Challenge will be a ‘must do’ event for wine industry insiders from around Australia. “We see this event as being part of the SA Tourism Commission’s campaign to bring wine lovers to the home of the nation’s best wines and friendliest cellar door outlets so close to the city,” Peter said.
“Winestate Magazine actively supports the SA Tourism Commission’s national marketing promotion of Adelaide’s 200 Cellar Doors that are within an hour’s drive of the city.”
