Jacaranda season is once again upon us, with just a glimpse of that gorgeous purple enough to set our hearts aflutter.

We’ve put together a list of some of the streets in Adelaide that are really bringing the purple rain.

Adelaide CBD

The CBD is a grid of streets lined with Jacarandas, so you could just go for a leisurely afternoon stroll to stretch your legs and you’d see plenty — but expect to see some purple at Grote Street, Carrington Street, and Wakefield Street.

Black Forest

The streets of this inner southern suburb are often lined with the beautiful purple hues of the Jacaranda with Byron Road and Fairmont Avenue being some of the best.

Blair Athol

For anyone northside, the Blair Athol streets of Lionel Avenue, Clifton Street and Leslie Avenue are great places to get a glimpse of the season ‘princess tree’ as its often referred.

Clarence Gardens

The City of Mitcham is known for bursting into bloom during this time of year. Niranna Avenue and Chamberlain Avenue have left lasting impressions over the past few years of bloom and we expect it to be a promising visit yet again this year. Other streets to suss are Leith Avenue, Thomas Street and Clovelly Avenue.

Frewville

Expect to experience a Jacaranda on Main Street in Frewville this year like the last. This aerial perfectly displays the triangular route you’ll take to get a face full of your favourite flowers.

Glenside

The City of Burnside is one of the top places to view Jacarandas. Expect to see them at L’Estrange Street which always boasts a pretty spectacular view.

Goodwood

You can find Jacarandas all over Goodwood, but a little birdie told us that Trevelyan Street is chock full of trees in bloom all up and down the whole length of the road which is perfect for photo opportunities.

University of Adelaide

Take a wander through the University of Adelaide campus grounds and bathe in the purple rain. You can find a lineup of Jacaranda trees alongside Bonython Hall and scattered across the campus. This one can’t be missed. You’re sure to see them from early November if you’re walking or driving past.

Westbourne Park

There are plenty of streets in this Southern suburb that are adorned with Jacarandas! Head to Monmouth, Watt and Warwick Streets as well as Newberry Avenue and Sussex Terrace.
