Jacaranda season is once again upon us, with just a glimpse of that gorgeous purple enough to set our hearts aflutter.
We’ve put together a list of some of the streets in Adelaide that are really bringing the purple rain.
The City of Burnside is one of the top places to view Jacarandas. Expect to see them at L’Estrange Street in Glenside. It always boasts a pretty spectacular view.
Goodwood | Trevelyan Street
You can find Jacarandas all over Goodwood, but a little birdie told us that Trevelyan Street is chock full of trees in bloom all up and down the whole length of the road. It’s still too early to say but expect to see them all around the suburb within the next couple of weeks.
The CBD is a grid of streets lined with Jacarandas, so you could just go for a leisurely afternoon stroll to stretch your legs and you’d see plenty — but expect to see some purple at Grote Street, Carrington Street, and Wakefield Street.
@cityofadelaide on Instagram is your go to for some great images and updates this Jacaranda season.
University of Adelaide
Take a wander through the University of Adelaide campus grounds and bathe in the purple rain. You can find a lineup of Jacaranda trees alongside Bonython Hall and scattered across the campus. This one can’t be missed. You’re sure to see them in early November if you’re walking or driving past.
Expect to see some great clicks uploaded to the @uniofadelaide account soon!
A smidgen more north side, expect to see some bright colours at Lionel Avenue and Clifton Street.
The City of Mitcham is known for bursting into bloom during this time of year. Niranna Avenue and Chamberlain Avenue were a sight to remember in 2019, and we expect it to be a promising visit yet again this year.
Heading just next door, Byron Road in Black Forest also features the pretty purple blossoms for your viewing pleasure.
Expect to experience a Jacaranda on Main Street in Frewville this year like the last. This aerial perfectly displays the triangular route you’ll take to get a face full of your favourite flowers.
