Best TV Shows To Stream On Netflix & Stan As You Get Acquainted With Your Couch

We’ve done the hard work in finding which TV shows on Netflix and Stan you NEED to binge next.

With the COVID-19 precautions beginning to be set into place, most of us are projected to the spend the immediate future parked on our couch.

The answer to social distancing is definitely found on the digital world, but what does that mean? It means that it’s time to binge on some really good TV shows.

Outside of what’s on your ‘My List’, we’ve done the hard work in deciding which TV shows are our current favourites on Netflix and Stan, that you NEED to binge next.

Netflix

Riverdale It’s safe to say that this is the best kind of guilty TV. A group of late-20 somethings masquerading as 16 year olds in high school spouting dialogue that makes no sense. Sign. Us. Up.

Big Mouth The story of pre-teens in the midst of the hardest years of puberty. Raunchy, hedonistic, explicit, uninhibited, and in 30 minute bite-sized episodes.

Love Follows Micky and Gus in a unique and honest relationship, both hilarious and heartbreaking.

Love is Blind The most talked about reality TV series. Picture it, two people who propose to each other… before ever seeing each other. Trust us, it’s good.

The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez The tragic death of an 8-year-old California boy who endured horrific abuse by his mother and her boyfriend is explored, along with the fractured and complex systems that failed to protect him.

The Haunting of Hill House As deeply frightening as it is deeply sad, the story of this fractured family confronting their haunting memories of their old home will have you screaming and sobbing in turn.

Altered Carbon Action and drama mixed in a deliciously dangerous story of a world where consciousness is digitised. Takeshi Kovacs is brought back to life to solve a mind-bending murder.

Narcos The chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar is insanely addictive, and insanely good.

Baby It might be slow to start but the story of two teens discovering life, sex, and danger as they delve into Rome’s underworld is sensational.

Our Planet With the soothing dulcet tones of David Attenborough’s voice, you will be transported to the remote Arctic wilderness and mysterious deep oceans to the vast landscapes of Africa and diverse jungles of South America.

Stan

RuPaul’s Drag Race The search for America’s next drag superstar takes into account charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, and RuPaul’s Drag Race never fails to give you all if that.

Friends We know you’ve seen every episode multiple times, but we think it’s time to rewatch one of the best sitcoms ever made.

Seinfeld Stan has the answer to the Friends versus Seinfeld question, and the result is having both on the platform! Binge away.

Breaking Bad One of the most phenomenal TV shows to grab the world by storm, the story of a high school chemistry teacher that becomes one of the most dangerous drug dealers, simply won’t get old.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer The chosen one, but not Harry Potter, it’s Buffy and instead of heading to a school of magic, she’s destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures with the help of her friends.

Sons of Anarchy The story of a young dad, juggling being a new father and his allegiance to a bikie gang. It’s sexy, it’s dangerous and a rollercoaster that’ll break your heart at one point.

Louis Theroux Everything Louis Theroux is on Netflix and we couldn’t be more thankful. The documentary extraordinaire’s prolific work is at your fingertips.

Younger Lying about your age has never been more funny, touching, and insightful than with the story of Liza who decides to reboot her career and love life as a 26-year old (AND it stars Hilary Duff).

Underbelly Australian true crime ripe for rewatching on Stan. Spanning throughout history, all of the underworld’s most dramatic moments and figures on the silver screen.

The Handmaid’s Tale Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel has had one of the best novel to screen adaptation. With Elizabeth Moss at the helm as a concubine living under a fundamentalist theocratic dictatorship, it’s both addictive and important to watch.
