Bickford’s celebrates 150 years of crafting timeless flavours for every generation

Iconic Australian brand Bickford’s are celebrating their 150 years by launching “Sweet Memories Are Homemade”, showcasing their universally loved and nostalgic flavours.

Bickford’s, the quintessential Australian household name, is marking its 150th anniversary, a testament to its enduring legacy of craftsmanship and delightful flavours cherished by generations worldwide.

In honour of this milestone, Bickford’s have launched the “Sweet Memories Are Homemade” campaign, reminiscing about the cherished moments where Bickford’s beverages were part of our lives. From Lemon Barley Cordial reminiscent of Grandma’s pantry, to lime cordial transformed into refreshing icy treats during scorching Aussie summers, and the iconic Lemon Lime & Bitters that rivals professional bartenders’ concoctions.

“For most Australians, a love of Bickford’s was imparted at a young age. The taste of your childhood, a staple of summer; it’s hard to imagine hot days without cold cordial in the backyard,” said Chris Illman, Bickford’s Group Head Of Sales and Marketing.

“Over the past 150 years, Bickford’s has been present in creating memories and traditions that have been passed through generations; and that’s a milestone and legacy we’re all tremendously proud of.”

To celebrate, Bickford’s introduces six new celebratory flavours and revives a fan-favourite. From Lime Spider to Creamy Soda, Strawberry Lime Crush, Raspberry Ripple, Mango Coconut Splash and Pink Lemonade these limited edition offerings blend nostalgia with Bickford’s contemporary flair.

A special Collector’s Edition Lime Cordial label commemorates the anniversary, paying homage to Bickford’s heritage while incorporating nostalgic elements. Bickford’s Lime Cordial, a bestseller since 1874, was recognised as a Heritage Icon in 2016.

“What sets Bickford’s apart is not just its rich history, but also its unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and operating as a family-owned, South Australian business,” Chris said.

“We have over 250 employees across the country – some of whom have been with the company for over 30 years, which is a testament to what Bickford’s stands for.”

Established in 1874 by William and Anne Bickford, the brand has evolved from a local apothecary to a global sensation, exporting its iconic flavours to over 45 countries. The range includes Traditional Cordials, Premium Juices, Syrups, Sodas, and Dairy Alternatives.

With a focus on quality and flavour, Bickford’s crafts all its products on-site, blending modern technology with traditional values to bring naturally delicious beverages to Australian families, honouring its legacy while embracing innovation for the tastes of today.
