We know that when two South Australian brands come together, it’s usually nothing short of amazing. So when we heard The Kensington Hotel was teaming up with Bird In Hand to produce The Kensi Long Lunch with Bird In Hand on Sunday 25 June, we were excited to say the least.
You’ll enjoy a day of great food, fantastic wine and soothing sounds of Paige Renee Court. The lunch, hosted by Justin Nugent, the Global Brand Ambassador for Bird In Hand Wines, involves a 6-course degustation, and with each course matched with one or more wines.
The degustation menu is designed to tantalise your tastebuds and show off the culinary flare of The Kensi’s talented chefs, matched by some of South Australia’s best wines. The menu includes things like Beetroot cured Hiramasa Kingfish, pickled cucumber and radish, salmon roe, dill and chive; Confit duck leg croquettes, parsnip puree, pickled red cabbage and cherry jus and Chargrilled lamb cutlets, truffled broad bean puree and beetroot remoulade with marjoram-infused olive oil.
Even the dessert is paired with wine! You’ll be able to indulge in 85% cocoa dark chocolate ice cream, vanilla bean and date biscotti, as well as an array of cheeses paired with the 2008 Bird in Hand Fortified Merlot.
