Guests are invited to experience two unforgettable Sparkling Spring Masterclasses and Luncheons in the newly refurbished restaurant space at Woodside. The event promises to be a sensory delight, with a three-course meal expertly crafted by Chef Kane Pollard, showcasing the very best of local, sustainable ingredients, including fresh produce harvested directly from Bird in Hand’s on-site kitchen garden.
Pollard, renowned for his culinary expertise, has a deep-rooted connection to South Australia’s food scene.
Growing up in a market gardening family, he learned about sustainability and the importance of locally sourced ingredients from an early age. His passion for cooking ‘from scratch’ was ignited during his travels through South East Asia and Europe, and it led him to fine-dining restaurants around the world.
Also at the event will be Bird in Hand’s chief winemaker, Sarah Burvill, who will introduce guests to Bird in Hand’s méthode traditionnelle ‘O’ Sparkling and guide them through the distinct characteristics of a premium selection of Bird in Hand wines. It’s here she’ll help you learn the art of skillful wine pairing.
Bird in Hand, situated on some of the world’s oldest soils, is more than just a winery; it’s a place where nature, art, and culture intertwine.
Founded by Andrew and Susie Nugent, the estate is a testament to their vision of sustainability and respect for the environment. The Woodside estate’s 80 fertile acres benefit from the coastal influence of the Gulf of St. Vincent and the cloud cover provided by the Mount Lofty Ranges, creating the perfect conditions for grape cultivation.
In addition to its remarkable wines, Bird in Hand hosts exclusive culinary experiences, concerts, and art events. The winery has recently presented a number of events where celebrities like American icon Brooke Shields, fashion guru Alexa Chung, The Beckhams, Actress Laura Dern and more have been spotted enjoying a sip of Bird in Hand.
