Adelaide Oval is set to transform into the ultimate party destination this summer as the Adelaide Strikers lock in one of the biggest nights of the season. The club today announced that iconic Australian rock band Birds of Tokyo will headline the post-match entertainment at the Strikers’ New Year’s Eve blockbuster.
Tickets are now on sale for all Strikers home matches, including the much-anticipated clash against the Brisbane Heat on New Year’s Eve. Following the action on the field, fans will be treated to a full-scale light and sound spectacular as Birds of Tokyo take the stage to perform their most-loved anthems, including Plans, Lanterns and Silhouettic.
The celebrations won’t stop there. The popular New Year’s Eve Post-Match Bash returns to the Lindsay Head Terrace on Level 5 of the Riverbank Stand, offering some of the best views in the city for Adelaide’s fireworks display. Tickets to the party include entertainment, light refreshments, and access to bar facilities, making it one of the most vibrant ways to welcome 2026.
Lead singer Ian Kenny said the band was excited to be part of such a major event.
“We can’t wait to tear it up in Adelaide for the Big Bash NYE Smash! What better way to kick off the New Year than with a massive night of cricket, live music, and fireworks lighting up Adelaide Oval? Bring your mates, bring the family – let’s send 2025 out with a bang!”
Adelaide Strikers General Manager – Commercial, Sam Elliott, said securing Birds of Tokyo was the perfect way to build on the success of the fixture.
“We are thrilled to have Birds of Tokyo join us for what has become a staple of the Summer BBL fixture. Their music is the perfect soundtrack for a New Year’s Eve celebration, and we can’t wait to share that incredible atmosphere with a packed Adelaide Oval.”
Last year’s event was a complete sell-out, and fans are urged to book early to avoid missing out. Early bird pricing is available until 13 November, giving supporters the chance to lock in the best seats at the best value.
