Chocolate and beer are hands down some of the tastiest food and drink inventions. But what would happen if you put them together?
Steven ter Horst Chocolatier on Rundle Mall and Victorian brewer Hawkers Beer are bringing together two of the best things in the world – beer and chocolate – to create something magical. Their Bitter & Sweet event marks the launch of Steven ter Horst’s beer infused chocolates, and will provide beer matching with some core and limited special beers.
Hawkers Beer provided Steven with four types of beers to incorporate into his chocolates: an India Pale Ale, a Seasonal Stout, an Imperial Stout and a Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout. Hawkers are also collaborating with Steven to create a specific beer, which will start production next week.
On 25 July from 4pm to 5pm, Steven ter Horst Chocolatier will host the Bitter and Sweet event, where Steven himself will unveil his line of chocolates and walk attendees through the chocolate flavour profiles. Hawkers Beer Head Brewer, Justin Corbitt, will also be present to release the limited edition beer collaboration.
This sit-down casual event is limited to 30 places, with tickets going for $16.50 each through Eventbrite. More information about the event can be found at the Bitter & Sweet Facebook event page.
For those wanting to skip the chocolate, Hawkers Beer is also launching their limited release Barrel Aged Stout range at a beer matching dinner at the Franklin Boutique Hotel on 26 July.
