NOLA Adelaide and The Stag Public House will be kicking off their annual Festival of Darkness this Sunday, showcasing 18 breweries and a whole lot of dark and malted beers.
The festival itself as officially sold out, but if you missed out on a ticket – never fear. You will have the opportunity to sample all the festival beers and party into the night at the Festival of Darkness After Party Block Party.
From 9pm on Sunday 12 June – to celebrate the closing of the Festival of Darkness – a not-so-little after party will kick off, dedicated to emptying the festival’s limited kegs. They’re not any ol’ kegs, either! Big Shed Brewing, Shapeshifter Brewing, Mismatch, Shifty Lizard, and Swell Brewery will all be making an appearance, plus many more.
Vardon Avenue will be transformed to accommodate a night of beer and live music, with two indoor and outdoor stages spread across The Stag Public House and NOLA.
Some of Adelaide’s best live musicians will keep you entertained, while the team at NOLA will keep you fed. NOLA’s famous fried chicken and tots will be available throughout the night, lining the stomachs of many a frothed-up festival goer.
Eight acts will take the stage, including the likes of Blue Lucy, Dojo Rise, Gabrielle Hyde, and Lucas Day.
Since singing the soaring vocals on her pal Allday’s 2014 Triple J Like A Version “Never Tear Us Apart”, Gabrielle Hyde has been honing her skills on the local circuit for the past few years.
A regular fixture in the Adelaide music scene, Gab is pretty familiar with entertaining rowdy pub crowds with folky originals and 90s covers.
The 5-piece band, Blue Lucy, will also be gracing your ears with their smooth blend of rock and roll, indie-psych and brit pop music. For something even more acoustic and soulful, Dojo Rise and Lucas Day will be incorporating their indie-soul, singer/songwriter into the set list.
If you’re still not sure how to spend your Sunday night, earmark this in your calendar.
