Residing in the sweeping landscape of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the stunning cellar door at Boho Farm is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered.
Conveniently located just off Victor Harbor Road, Boho Farm offers unparalleled views of the Fleurieu Peninsula and is the perfect place to indulge in a glass (or two) of fine wine, mouth-watering wood-fired pizzas and cheese as you nestle into a cosy spot by the fire.
Opening the gorgeous location in July this year, despite a looming COVID lockdown, the cellar door has been inundated with support from all across the state.
“We have been blown away, even with COVID, we’ve had a lot of support, and a lot of local support too, we feel very fortunate,” says co-owner Claire Hoban.
Having only recently ventured into the wine-making business, Claire and her partner Luke have teamed up with acclaimed winemaker Nick Dugmore to produce a drop of gorgeous Mount Jagged wines. The winery is home to gorgeous tipples of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé and Claire’s favourite – ‘The Wild One’ Shiraz.
“Nick is a wizard with the grapes. We grow the grapes and he makes the wine,” explains Claire.
The label of the wines pays homage to the breathtaking property, each name telling a story of its creation.
Looking into the future, the couple plan on releasing their very own beer, in partnership with Lobethal Beer House, and gin created by Claire herself come springtime. Boho Farm will also be home to several beehives in the coming weeks, allowing the idyllic cellar door to produce its honeycomb to feature on their delectable cheese boards.
For those looking for the latest wedding destination, Boho Farm has also partnered with popular events planner Hygee Studio to host functions come October this year – just in time for the warmer weather.
Come for the wine and stay for the night, with Boho Farm home to a lakeside retreat amongst the sprawling vineyards. The bespoke timber cabin is an idyllic romantic getaway, where couples can watch the sunset over the beautiful lake.
While Boho Farm is a destination to escape to for a luxury getaway, Claire and Luke have long dreamed of opening a cellar door since purchasing the expansive property five years ago.
“It’s a passion project really,” explains Claire. “We were always going to the Fleurieu, and one day, we came across this property, and it was too good to resist.”
“The cellar door was on the property, and we thought it had so much potential.”
You can find Boho Farm Cellar Door at 68 Sneyd Road, Mount Jagged SA 5211 on Saturday and Sunday between 11:30 am and 4 pm.
