Bone Growth Foundation Gets A Healthy New Name

The Bone Health Foundation, formally known as The Bone Growth Foundation, will celebrate its new name and a new direction at a VIP event on Wednesday February 29 at the Adelaide Zoo.

The Bone Health Foundation will continue to carry on the outstanding work of The Bone Growth Foundation over the past 20 years, whilst expanding to enable its support and promotion of conditions that affect, or are affected by, the musculoskeletal system in men, women, children and babies.

The Bone Health Foundation will also take on an important role in the promotion and education of bone health for all Australians.

The incidence and impact of musculoskeletal conditions from birth to the aged in our community continues to rise as does the required spend of public money, says Dr Bruce Foster, AM, MBBS MD (Adel) FRACS, Founder and Chair of the Bone Health Foundation.

“More than $4.6 billion public health dollars are spent on caring for over 6 million Australians who suffer from musculoskeletal conditions,” he Dr Foster says.

“We are excited to announce that from 2012, the Foundation’s annual grants program will accept applications from individuals and entities to research conditions and consequences of any aspect of the musculoskeletal system,” Dr Foster adds.
