I am sure there are very few people left on this planet who haven’t at least heard of the juggernaut that is Harry Potter. It has continued to take advantage of its huge popularity with more books, a stage play, theme park attractions, clothing lines, and other merchandise based around Hogwarts and the characters we have grown to love or hate.

Harry Potter: Spells and Charms: A Movie Scrapbook can be another addition to the library of those who are obsessed with all things Harry Potter or maybe a book which will encourage those who are new to the wizarding world to begin their Harry Potter journey.

Spells and Charms has been written as a scrapbook, with each double page full of information about a specific spell or group of spells. Each double page includes things like: known users of the spell, spell essentials, when it would be used, and in which novel or novels of the seven, the spell or charm appeared. Throughout the book there are pockets and maps, stickers and smaller booklets. All of these inserts are always great fun to explore. There are colour photographs from the movies of the people who performed the spells and some behind the scenes photographs as well. Something interesting on each page is a small insight into how some of the stunts are achieved and other secrets behind the filming of the spells and charms.

Harry Potter Spells and Charms: A Movie Scrapbook offers the reader a chance to delve deeper into the world of spells and charms, encouraging the fans to try the spells and charms for themselves. It is quite a compact book, attractively laid out, and written as a non-fiction text. It may not be a book for everyone, but certainly the fans will enjoy discovering a little more about the world they have grown to love.
