The Grey Nomad’s Ultimate Guide to Australia is a book chock full of useful information for those lucky retired people (aka grey nomads) who want to discover Australia. It covers the myriad different ways you can travel this great country: fromcaravan, motorhome, camper van, and camper trailer to packing a tent. Whether travelling full time or part time, from taking a year out to go to those places you have always wanted to see, to just spending a weekend away, this book covers everything you will need.

Written by Xavier Waterkeynwith lots of help from the team at Full Range Camping, this ultimate guide helps you prepare for the trip from the moment you decide this might be your dream. Everything is covered including choosing your vehicle, how to save money, what to eat and cook including some really delicious recipes using ingredients that can be found anywhere, staying healthy, where to camp, and insuring yourself against any eventuality. Interspersed throughout the book are anecdotes written by actual travellers.

Each section is clearly written with such topics as: financial preparation, travelling solo, travelling with pets, what to buy, but most importantly, what to see. At the end of the book is a list of things to see in each state. Examples in South Australia are Victor Harbor, Flinders Ranges, Coober Pedy, Barmera and the Eyre Peninsula.

One particularly useful section is a list of what to take. All too often we over-pack but this simple list tells us what the must-haves are and what to add if we amazingly still have space.

The Grey Nomad’s Ultimate Guide to Australia is written for but not limited to just grey nomads. It would also be a veryuseful guide for people of all ages who love travelling.

This book has been written by people who have travelled extensively and are now passing on their wealth of knowledge to those who want to spend some time discovering this great country of ours. The contents page, subject headings and large font make it easy to read and the photographs throughout show us what we can look forward to.

Clear and concise, The Grey Nomad’s Ultimate Guide to Australia is a great book to help you get started on the next adventure in your life.
