PICTURE BOOK: An affirming story to remind us of our individual and unique talents.

A delightfully charming Aussie children’s tale about never giving up until you find your style.

Set in the Australian bush, Wombat Dreaming is a charming children’s book about Lil the Wombat, who desperately wants to join her friends for the weekly Sunday morning yoga session by the creek. But try as she might, she just can’t manage to do the poses.

Lil doesn’t give up though, and with the help of her friends, she keeps trying until she figures out the best yoga pose for her round wombat body.

The key messages of this book are that everyone has their own unique talents, even if some have to persist to find them more than others, along with friendship and positive self-image.

As an early childhood teacher, I’m also appreciating the fact the story promotes being outside in nature and doing yoga, which are both great for wellbeing.

Written in a wonderful rhyming style and accompanied by delightful illustrations depicting the beautiful Australian flora and fauna, Wombat Dreaming really is a winner and is perfect for children aged three to six years.
