#BookThemOut shortlisted in this year’s Mumbrella Awards

The Mumbrella Awards recognises Aussie organisations for their achievements in media, marketing, advertising and PR.

One of South Australia’s own has been recognised for their achievements in advertising by one of Australia and New Zealand’s most prestigious media and marketing award bodies.

The South Australian Tourism Commission has been recognised by the Mumbrella Awards for their work on this year’s #BookThemOut campaign, which aimed to encourage locals and tourists to support Cudlee Creek and Kangaroo Island businesses who were struggling after the devastating SA bushfires.

SA’s tourism body along with TBWA Adelaide and Wavemaker, was recognised in over four categories including, Mumbrella Award for Innovation, Ad Campaign of the Year, Social Idea of the Year and Marketing Team of the Year.

The annual event which is hosted by the media and marketing agency, Mumbrella aims to recognise the achievements of Australian and New Zealand organisations and individuals within advertising, marketing, media and PR.

Some of the other contenders to be shortlisted for 2020 include Uber Eat’s ‘Tonight I’ll Be Eating…’ campaign featuring Jimmy Barnes, Kim Kardashian and Aussie icon, Sharon Strzelecki aka Magda Sabanski, Australia Post’s ‘Spread the Merry’ campaign.

Advertising agencies, CHE Proximity and Thinkerbell lead the pack, with over ten nominations across the board.

The awards were announced late last week with a record number of entries across over thirty categories.

Like many events in 2020, this year’s ceremony is set to look very different from previous years and will take place virtually.

Hosted by radio and television personality, Ash London, the Mumbrella Awards is set to take place on Thursday, October 8 and will be streamed online for free here.
