Who’d have thought it?
After humble beginnings as a juice bar in Adelaide 11 years ago, Boost Juice Bars have reached a milestone with the opening of Boost Settlement City in Port Macquarie – its 200th store in Australia.
Co-founder of Boost Juice, Janine Allis, opened the first Boost Juice Bar on King William Street, Adelaide in 2001 after noticing the juice bar trend on a holiday in the United States.
“We opened our first store with a simple vision. Our goal was to create something that tasted amazing and was good for you, and ensuring that you were always looked after by someone with a smile to make your day just that little bit better,” Janine says.
“Now, reaching 200 stores in Australia, based on the same vision from 12 years ago, is an incredible dream come true. I have loved every minute of it.”
In addition to Boost’s 200 Australian stores, it has squeezed its way overseas operating 70 outlets internationally across thirteen countries including South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Chile and the UK.
Boost uses more than 6 million bananas, 5 million oranges, 3 million apples, 3 million carrots, 1.5 million pineapples, 800 tonnes of watermelon, 20 million strawberries, 1 million whole mangos, 8 million raspberries, 49 million blueberries, and 3 million passion fruits every year.
Parent company Retail Zoo, which also operates franchise business Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill, turns over more than $170 million a year.
