Following a slew of sold-out events, Beachfront brunch spot, Sunnyside Henley, is hosting its next bottomless dumpling & wine night this September. Make a note on the social calendar because this will sell out quickly.
Priced at $55 per person, guests will be spoiled with a banquet meal, bottomless dumplings, and dessert to cleanse the palate. Run in collaboration with local winery, Sherrah Wines, the event will also treat guests to a few wine tastings too!
With the banquet previously consisting of food items like corn ribs, tempura eggplant, Sunnyside fried rice, and chocolate brownies, you’ll doubtlessly leave this event feeling full and satisfied. This time, Pork Bao Buns will also be featured on the menu.

After opening Sunnyside Henley in February this year, owners (and brothers) brothers Liam and Mattis Vanzati have quickly grown one of Henley’s most beloved brunch staples.
The aesthetically pleasing venue – with lime green ceilings, wicker chairs and pinecone-eque chandeliers – has developed a reputation for loaded bagels, full English breakfast, and stacked-high pancake towers.
Now, Sunnyside is becoming the bottomless dumpling hotspot of the west, running spontaneous evening events that attract crowds from all over to the Henley Beach shoreline.
“From the start, our dumpling nights have been selling out… there’s been a huge demand for them,” says Mattis. “This will be our 12th one! Many people are keep coming back – it’s such a fun format. The wine tastings also keep things different. We only do local wines, as its nice to support and represent local.”
“We have our favourite wineries that we like to work with. We’ve been in the business for a long time, so we’re able to reach out to a lot of wineries and they reach out to us. In SA, we’re really spoilt for choice,” added Mattis.
As you dive into your infinitely refilling bowl of delectable dumplings, Sherrah Wines will lead casual wine tastings throughout the night.
Sherrah Wines is the passion project of the (self-proclaimed) Chef Swirler and Sniffer, Alex Sherrah. After working at various Clare Valley based wineries such as Knappstein and O’Leary Walker Wines – on top of completing vintages in Tatachilla, Burgundy and Austria – Alex set up his own label in McLaren Vale.
Sunnyside’s Dumpling & Wine Night will give guests the opportunity to not only take a sip of Alex’s delicious wines, but also buy a bottle or two to take home with you, direct from the source.
If wine isn’t your cup of tea, never fear. Standard drinks and cocktails are available on the night but note that these drinks will be charged separately from the banquet price.
