The outstanding success of critically acclaimed films including The Iron Lady, Midnight in Paris and The King’s Speech has led Event Cinemas to launch an exciting new program to show independent and arthouse films in its suburban Gold Class cinemas.
Event Cinemas will now present films usually reserved for city boutique and fringe cinemas in suburban Gold Class locations in response to demand from audiences.
Gold Class cinemas will offer a first look at new premium titles on Wednesday nights followed by showcase seasons from the Thursday.
The new initiative comes after the box office success of a string of quality films and after calls from the Sydney Festival for more high quality entertainment in locations including the city’s western suburbs.
Event Cinemas General Manager Jane Hastings says “We’re hugely excited about this new initiative. Traditionally, lovers of sophisticated films would have to travel to the city to see these movies but now audiences will be able to enjoy them in Gold Class luxury”.
With superb seating, first-class service and delicious new chef prepared food and beverage menu, Gold Class is an ideal match for up-market film experiences.
Each ticket purchased for Wednesday night boutique film sessions will include a complimentary first glass of wine* with customers able to purchase additional items from the new Gold Class food and beverage menu.
