Bowden Brewing has teamed up with CheeseFest and Kris Lloyd of Woodside Cheese Wrights to create the ultimate cheese board beer.
When it comes to picnic essentials, a cold froth has always been high on the list, but what about a beer that pairs perfectly with charcuterie? A beer designed to accompany and accentuate the versatile potential of a cheese board?
Bowden Brewing felt there was a gap in their grazing game that hadn’t quite yet been filled so they decided to get to work and fill it. Introducing the ultimate picnic basket filler – the ‘BYO Cheese’ Quince & Crackers Berliner Weisse.
A light, crisp and refreshing base with a subtle tart finish carried through with plenty of savoury quince flavour. “Cheese Fest is such an unbelievable festival and we were pumped to get together and produce a beer for the event!” says Head Brewer Jake Phoenix.
“We put our collective heads together when thinking about how to create a beer that fits seamlessly into a cheese board and feel this little number fits the ticket completely!
“‘BYO Cheese’ Quince & Crackers Berliner Weisse” is a light, zingy and refreshing palette cleanser, infused with 20kg of quince paste and crackers! This beer is made for pairing; Cheese, Friendship, Sunshine… you name it, it adds an extra layer of enjoyment. Just BYO Cheese.”
This brew is a 3.8% ABV, nice and sessionable and you’ll be able to sample it as well as some other Bowden Brews at CheeseFest. That’s right, Bowden has its own stall at CheeseFest so you can quite literally BYO Cheese while drinking BYO Cheese… full BYO Cheese-ception.
“When Bowden Brewing suggested a collab Beer for Cheesefest we really didn’t know what to expect! The brewers have passionately created this amazing beer that is the perfect partner for Cheese aptly named BYO Cheese. It’s fresh and delicately flavoured, we truly love it, such a great concept and a pleasure to collaborate with Bowden Brewing.” Says Kris Lloyd, Director of Cheesefest.
“On tasting day, we discovered the dreamiest cheese pairing; The Kris Lloyd Artisan Flower Power, a floral buffalo cheese which is covered in pretty petals and complimented the quince notes in the beer.
“We are super excited about Cheesefest 2022 and feel so lucky that we can have such an amazing Festival here in Adelaide. We cannot wait to share the most snackable weekend in SA with you all!”
This beer will be available at the brewery and in selected bottle shops from this Friday or visit Bowden Brewing at CheeseFest this weekend where the team will be slinging this tasty brew.
