The State Government’s master-planned redevelopment project in Bowden has just seen the completion of its first homes. Last night, Renewal SA hosted the Bowden Open House event – an exclusive preview of the product onsite.
Invited guests were treated to food by Jarmer’s Kitchen, wine and tours of four contemporary apartments and terraces within the new Bowden Village.
Designed by different architectural houses and developers, each apartment had a unique style and atmosphere. However, what connected them to one vision of Bowden were the spectacularly innovative designs. Considering the small size of the residences per metre, each apartment used modern architectural and interior design techniques to maximise space.
Whilst larger families may struggle to call these apartments and terraces home, they are perfect for singles, couples and students. This fits swimmingly with the needs of the younger demographic for which Bowden aims to cater for.
And so it has been done. Since Renewal SA acquired the 16.3 ha site, Bowden has certainly transformed its reputation. What was once known as the hardest suburb in Adelaide has now been completely redefined as a vibrant, sustainable inner-city destination with high quality architecture and a community where people can live without a car yet stay connected in every way.
With its welcoming, tree-lined streets painted bright with street art, local restaurants, cafés, hotels, bike trails, a pedestrian bridge to access the city and convenient public transport, Bowden is set to be Adelaide’s hottest suburb, and will soon be home to over 3500 homeowners.
Despite the developments only just beginning, over 180 apartments have been sold already. Indeed, interested buyers need to get in quick.
