Bowerbird Bazaar’s third event on 8-10 October 2010 is shaping up to be its best! This dynamic weekend event in the historic Queens Theatre in Adelaide’s CBD showcases high-quality work by designer/makers from all over Australia, including a large number from SA. There are over 70 stalls and the work is curated to ensure a wide range of beautiful products including furniture, lighting, homewares, jewellery, wall art, clothing, and stationery.
‘It’s a great chance to do your Christmas shopping early. You’ll meet the makers behind the products and find very personal, often handmade gifts. Most stallholders deal only in cash, so come prepared!’ says Jane, one of the two co-organisers of Bowerbird Bazaar.
Maintaining a mix of emerging and established designers and makers keeps the event fresh with an emphasis placed on fostering and promoting small businesses.
Bowerbird’s third event sees the return of the mini trade fair on the Friday afternoon providing a relaxed environment for retailers to source more unique products direct from the designer/maker and for the designers to establish wholesale relationships which help to further grow their business. ‘It’s also a peaceful way to do a bit of networking and personal shopping before the doors open to the rush of the public at 4pm’ advises Rebekah.
Make a date of it and put aside some time to partake in the wonderful selection of local food, wine, beer, coffee and cakes available as well as the dynamic atmosphere that has made the bi-annual event so popular.
Public, retailers, trade, and media are all welcome. Bowerbird Bazaar opens to the public at 4pm, Friday 8 October 2010, with the special trade/media preview 2-4 pm.
