An Adelaide favourite is making a grand return next week, bringing locals a weekend of creativity, craftsmanship and celebration. From November 21st to 23rd, Wayville Pavilion at the Adelaide Showgrounds will be transformed with all things design, as Bowerbird showcases the very best in Australian-made, small-run and handcrafted goods.
Curator Peggy Byrne has once again brought together a curated mix of the top makers from across the country and every corner of South Australia. This time round, there’s an exciting lineup of designers, artists and artisans, plus plenty of surprises, with many brands exclusive to Bowerbird and some making their South Australian debut. Covering everything from contemporary fashion and clever upcycling to handmade jewellery, homewares and gourmet treats, this will be the perfect destination to kick off your Christmas shopping with thoughtful gifting and pieces you won’t find anywhere else.

For those hunting for gifts under $50, there’s no shortage of options. Unique art prints, delicious candles and gourmet biscuits made with love all make perfect present. If you’re looking to spoil someone special, you’ll also find exquisite jewellery, stylish fashion accessories, and home decor all under $100. Best of all, every purchase supports an independent maker directly.
“I cannot wait to open our doors once again and share the amazing talent of our designers, makers and producers,” said Peggy. “It’s such a joy to see the colour and feel the energy in the room and to hear our makers share their passion with our visitors. It’s especially lovely at this time of year when we are all looking forward to spending time with our loved ones. Bowerbird is a great place to do that and to get into the Christmas spirit.”
Among the highlights are exclusive finds like Asuom’s statement resin jewellery, Fiona Forshaw’s wildlife art, and the witty, illustrated stationery of kitty Redshoes. You’ll also discover the beautifully scented creations of Harvey & Co Candles and the award-winning gingerbread treats from Gourmet Czech Australia. Newcomers to watch include Urbane Noir, a refined streetwear label for men, and The Simplist, a South Australian brand crafting plant-based teas and remedies inspired by the local landscape.
Market favourites Harper & Eddie, I am Someone, Pudding Lane, and TOD Candles will also make a welcome return, ensuring there’s something for every taste.
At the event, there will be a packed program of workshops offering hands-on creative experiences for all skill levels. Each led by seasoned makers, sessions will include hat burning, block printing, fabric painting and jewellery making. These have been designed to inspire and make sure participants can take home something unique they’ve made themselves.

Visitors can enjoy a delicious spread from local favourites Let Them Eat, Moi An, and OMG Donuts, with coffee, wine and spirits available at the bar, many of which are supplied by Bowerbird’s own producers.
So if you’re searching for the perfect Christmas gift or looking for something to do with friends and family, Bowerbird is the ultimate weekend destination. This really is part of the heart of Australia’s thriving maker scene, and this November’s edition is sure to be one of its best yet.
