Henley Beach’s contemporary dining venue Acacia has been transformed into a brand new space: Clutch Wine Bar and Restaurant, complete with in-house sommelier.
After a soft opening last week in Henley Square, the original management and much-loved team of the popular beachside haunt are thrilled to have transformed the space, developing an extensive wine bar to coincide with the offerings of online retail boutique wine store, Clutch.
Still offering the same speciality coffees and pastries every morning from 8am, the restaurant will now expand their seven-course degustation menu that was previously exclusive to weekends, throughout the week, as well as a number of delicious share plates and an a la carte menu from 11 til late.
With an eclectic food menu difficult to label as just one cuisine, the venue boasts a range of seasonal produce on the menu as well as a number of dishes which focus on the fascinating process of fermentation.
Patrons stopping by to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine will also be tempted by the house-made cheeses and charcuterie boards on offer in the intimate bar.
Fans of Acacia’s Sunday brunch will be delighted to hear this staple is staying on with the re-invention of the space as Clutch, keeping the popular mid-morning favourites such as their confit duck leg with house-made crumpets and spiced honey, Umami scrambled egg with octopus and the best-selling breakfast tacos.
Reinventing the interior is set to involve more focus being placed on the incredible display of wines on offer at Clutch, which will include a South Australian focus as well as a plentiful international selection, with the creation of more bar seating, and plush chairs for long afternoons lounging with a glass and catching up with friends.
The venue will maintain its minimalistic, Mediterranean feel, with the venue’s passionate team keen to share the reimagined space with their loyal customer base and visitors looking to try something new.
For regulars, there’s also some good news in the comfort stakes. New comfortable chairs, bigger water glasses, and bigger tables are all part of the makeover, so settling in for an afternoon of wine is back on the menu.
