Brick and Sip returns with LEGO-building fun at Yellow Matter brewery tonight

Brick and Sip returns tonight at Yellow Matter Brewery, inviting adults to unleash their creativity with LEGO, drinks, and challenges.

If you’re looking for something to do tonight, we’ve found just the thing! Tonight, you’ll have a chance to unleash your creativity, as the team at Brick and Sip is returning for an epic event at Yellow Matter. This is a LEGO for adults event, where you get to explore your creative side while kicking back with some good food and brews.

Led by the team at Braw Media, this idea came from the idea of combining knock-off drinks with a nostalgic hobby.

“I am someone who comes up with a million and one ideas, not all of them good,” shared Aaron from the Braw Media team.

“The idea of a paint and sip but with LEGO came about at 4:45pm one day at work while I was watching the clock count down to 5pm. LEGO was my number one hobby growing up, so I guess the mix of that and the desire for some knock-off drinks came together in that moment. I took the idea to Sophie Addison, my producing partner, and she said we had to do it before someone else did!”

The event is being held at Yellow Matter in Brooklyn Park, a local brewery known for its beers that are brewed on-site. There’ll be games and challenges to get involved with, making it a fun and inclusive way to try your hand at building LEGO.

“The team at Braw and our fantastic facilitators, James, Laura-Alice, Nathan and Ginny, have come up with a really fun bunch of challenges. Think of it like Bake Off, you have a Signature, Technical and Show Stopper build. From building a sphere out of rectangular bricks to building your dream home, it’s a great two hours with something for everyone. Plus, for the first time, we are building at Yellow Matter, a fantastic venue with some amazing drinks available!”

Aaron reckons the best part of Brick and Sip is seeing what you’ve built and how it differs from everyone else.

“Whether you know it or know, we all have a different build style that naturally comes out during the workshop. Walking around the room and viewing each other’s work while getting yourself another drink is the best time,” he says.

And even if you’re not a LEGO fan just yet, Aaron says they cater for builders of all ages.

“If you’re a master builder, we have bonus challenges you can attempt. If you’ve never played with it before, this is a great taste test of LEGO. At the end of the session, you disassemble your creation and put the bricks back in the box. So you can fulfil your inner child, without cluttering up your shelves at home.”

So if you’re yet to make your Thursday night plans, and you’re looking for something a bit different, this might be just the thing.
