In response to needing caffeine more than ever with the dark and cold mornings rolling in, the Adelaide Hills just gained a brand-new café with Brid, a local bakery and coffee shop, opening their doors to the public just days ago. At no surprise to anyone, Brid was an instant success, seeing the venue flooded with hungry hills goers and locals.

The new kids on the Piccadilly block are serving up fresh coffee by Monday’s, and organic sourdough, in a quaint and humbling space with neutral tones and wooden accents that perfectly capture the cosiness of the hills.

Brid has already made a name for themselves not only for their coffee, but also those with a sweet tooth seeing house-made apple pie and biscuits up for grabs with Glam’s own photographer Andrew giving it an A+.

What is possibly the cafes largest point of difference however, is their freshly baked breads on offer in collaboration with local bakeries and farms, for customers to purchase and take home with them.

Bread on offer can vary day to day at Brid, with the most recent addition being a shoyu spent grain sourdough made by Bhreu Ferments’ Andrew Douglas, with crop rotation lentils from Yorke Peninsula as well as a rye, with spelt and sceptre wheat from Langhorne Creek’s Small World Bakery, fermented with koji, and left to brew for a few months before being pressed and dried.

One thing’s for certain at Brid, and it’s that they’ve got your early morning coffee fix sorted opening Fridays from 7:30am to 2:00pm and Saturday through Sunday from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Keep up with Brid’s daily offerings on Instagram.

Brid is located at 176 Piccadilly Road, Piccadilly, South Australia.
