Brisbane’s acclaimed Savile Row bar to make a one-night appearance at Adelaide’s Maybe Mae

Experience an unforgettable cocktail night as Brisbane’s Savile Row takes over Adelaide’s Maybe Mae for an exclusive event filled with expertly crafted drinks and vibrant hospitality.

This January the vibrant world of cocktail-making will see two prestigious bars from different states all under one roof in Adelaide. For one night only, one of Queensland’s hottest cocktail spots, Savile Row, will take over Adelaide’s Maybe Mae. This event, dubbed ‘Behind the Orange Door’ is sure to deliver an evening filled with exceptional drinks and incredible hospitality.

Located behind a bright orange door at 667 Ann Street in Fortitude Valley since 2017, Savile Row has quickly established itself among Australia’s top drinking venues, even securing a spot in the top 20 bars for 2024. Known for its excellent hospitality and innovative flavour combinations, the bar is renowned for creating a memorable experience that goes beyond just serving drinks.

The collaboration is part of a relationship that began earlier in the year when Maybe Mae, supported by Never Never Distilling Co, toured nationally showcasing South Australia’s cocktail prowess to some of the country’s finest bars, including a visit to Savile Row. Now it’s Savile Row’s turn to light up the Adelaide scene.

“Maybe Mae’s produce and their locality driven drink style is fantastic and they are a consistent producer of world class cocktails,” says Jacob Cohen, general manager of Savile Row.

“People can expect exceptional hospitality, expertly crafted cocktails featuring the outstanding Never Never gin, all set to the backdrop of incredible disco tunes,” he says.

“The team at Savile Row enshrine the same values of hospitality that we do. It’s all about quality booze, quality banter and the fact it’s the people that truly make hospitality experiences incredible, not just great drinks,” shared Maybe Mae venue manager Nick Corletto.

Representing Savile Row at the Maybe Mae takeover will be Maria and Kowan, both of whom are bartenders with extensive experience. They are set to bring four exclusive cocktails to the event, including the whimsical ‘Yellow Submarine’ and the elegant ‘Tuxedo No.15’. The former is a concoction of Never Never Triple Juniper, local Threefold Limoncello, breakfast tea, salted leatherwood honey, lemon, and an unusual garnish of Cornflakes. Meanwhile, the Tuxedo No.15 features Never Never Triple Juniper, housemade raspberry wine, vanilla, lemon, and raspberry tonic water, accented with fresh raspberries.

The event promises to present a spectacular array of expertly crafted cocktails with the distinct qualities of both bars. Each drink will showcase the outstanding local ingredients and creative flair that these establishments have become known for.

Those eager to attend should note that as Maybe Mae boasts a cosy and intimate setting, seating is limited and available on a first come first serve basis through reservations on the Maybe Mae website. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this exclusive event that brings together the best of Queensland’s and South Australia’s cocktail scenes in one unforgettable evening behind the orange door.
